MCDOT : Intersection Safety Evaluations

YSMA evaluated signalized and un-signalized intersections to mitigate high crash rates at intersections serving very high traffic volumes including the Bell Road corridor, which is one of the busiest corridors in Maricopa County with nearly 60,000 daily vehicles.
 
  • Analyzed intersection characteristics, environmental and roadway factors, and driver behavior
 
  • Identified countermeasures and recommended re-evaluation of traffic signal timing, improved progression, signing and striping along the corridors, and improved visibility in darkness
