Cooper and Guadalupe

At this unique intersection of Guadalupe and Cooper Roads in Gilbert where a railroad tracks crossed two of the approaches,  YSMA worked with Union Pacific Railroad to create a first-of-its-kind traffic signal preemption strategy. 

  • Incorporated train movements into traffic signal operations to improve traffic capacity and reduced delay
 
  • Identified an optimal widening footprint that significantly reduced construction costs
